Is there a reason for chopping nfo files?

Such as:
http://www.vcdquality.com/index.php?page=nfo&id=54484

Not the first one i've seen either, so what's the reasoning behind it?

What's cut about that NFO? It looks complete to me.

However, I have seen many examples of NFO files that are cut off on the right-side margin. I think it's because the TXT->PNG converter doesn't work quite right. Remember that you can always download the TXT version with the link above the NFO image.

Well it's missing the logo and contact info... their normal nfo looks like:

As I mentioned though, it's happening with more groups than just Royal...

Oh, I thought you were referring to a technical issue on the website (given the section under which you posted this). I dunno why groups have been truncating their NFOs of late.

It is a technical issue.. an updater here is intentionally taking a groups nfo, chopping it down to a certain size and posting it. It’s not the groups doing this as their nfos are different than the ones posted here.

Bitter, miserable twat.

Maybe certain groups have requested that their contact information is cut?

How is the NFO -> PNG conversion done, is it an automatic script on the site?

Admin?

Presumably, if there is a reason for cropping some .nfos then all staff need to be made aware. Same with any groups who request that their releases aren't posted...

... The only problem is communicating this stuff. Sure, we have the staff IRC channel but we're never all there at the same/right time. Ideally, we need to get it fixed so that Updaters as well as Admin/Moderators can see the staff forum.

I'll bug somebody... Probably Eggs or Dwaggy

well its certainly not because of size, or else this one would be cut like hell.
