iam not trying to be awkward by the way, iam just pretty baffled that widescreen is taking off so well when watching normal tv on a widescreen set either makes everybody look like short fat dwarfs or means you lose some picture vertically / have black bars on each side.
no, your tv should know the aspect ratio and make it widescreen, or 4:3 or whatever, automatically.
