3 questions, resolution, FPS, file size.

I've been ripping dvds to avi and I wanted to make sure I was doing right. Im in Canada and most of my DVDs are NTSC i guess.

first, what is the avg resolution for movies? (full screen, wide screen, ect). is there a standard for each or is up to the ripper to choose. (I checked this post and still wasn't sure)

second, how many FPS? 23.976 or 25 or 29.97? right now Im using 23.976.

and last, file size for movies. is there a reason I should pick 700mb or 1.4gig for my rips. or is it up to the ripper to choose quality over size.

also, should I cut the black bars out of movies or leave them in? I have a movie that is 2.35:1 aspect ratio with black bars.

Thank you, I forgot about the TDX rules thread.

I also have a TV card, should I follow the SVCD rules with it? my reception isn't that good.
