New Player Needed - HELP REQ

Hi all,
I am looking at getting a new all in one piece of kit,( fed up with
three plus boxes stuck under the tv. )

What I need is a home theatre dvd recorder with decent size hardrive, xvid/divx codec, dvd-r/w +r/w, svcd/vcd .

I haven't been able to find a home theatre recorder with mp4 codecs, willing to spend up to £500 (more if I really have too).

Does such a thing exist ??? TIA

Thanks Neversoft.

Kiss make some cool kit ( have been tempted to purchase items many times over the last few years).

My only problem with the DP -558 is that it does not have directly connected speakers;. I would have to keep my existing Sony home theatre system as well just for the surround sound.

Is there a product with similar functionality to the Dp -558 with
a 5+1 speaker setup ??

i Have under my Tele a Liteon LVW-5045 HDD+DVD Recorder.
So far it has played everything i have thrown at!!
Its Divx cabable and very handily allows me to convert my camcorder footage really easily. It also allows me to convert my VHS collection via the scart sockets.
It has a 180GB HDD and 6 copying modes. You can squeeze 14 episodes of simpsons on one DVD-R. (6 Hours) and i got it for £220 at Amazon. It burns DVD +/- and RW's very easily. When i combine it with my Xbox i can easily convert any movie.

I Highly recommend it.
