An overlooked "problem"
First thing first, I have to agree with you guys and say the XV made a very nice rip, video/audio-wise.
However, there's an aspect of ripping that is mostly overlooked. It surely isn't reason enough for a nuke, but it would be nice if it became a part of the scene's considerations. I'm writing it hoping I'm not violating rule 6 (NO SCENE-RELATED DISCUSSION).
There's plenty of hardware out there capable playing XviD files. I own one. The problem is it doesn't support XviD-encoded files that make use of Q-Pel and/or GMC. I can enjoy this most excelent rip on my PC, but if I want to view it on my TV I'll have to re-encode it.
That's my only grievance, and warning for all you out there that has hardware players with similar limitations.
I'll Make a similar post in the appropriate forum.
