There’s a blurry line across the right top, the picture is very low res which is to be expected with a basic VHS screener. There’s also a watermark that scrolls across the screen briefly. Just in case anyone in interested. Also does anyone know if this is the US (edited) version of the film or if its the Uncut version?

EDIT::Holly shit, this is most obviously NOT the censored CUT version. This version WILL NOT be in the American Cinemas.

say cheeeese

quality is good for a screener, theres as mentioned above a pixelated rectangle in top right hand corner, and the top of screen, you can see disturbances, but thats only noticeable if you look closely. audio was chnaging from centre to right, and bak to centre, but again noticeable only if you pay close attention.

i'd give it:

8/8/10

movie: was great, who done it type of movie, with twists, great to watch, and the nude/sex scenes were great too heh :P

Newbie

To eliminate any confusion, there IS NO US edited version. Where the Truth Lies was released completely uncut in the United States (hence the NC-17 rating when he originally presented it to the MPAA), Thinkfilm completely supported him on his decision to release it uncut after he had tried making a few trims and losing both of his appeals to the MPAA. In the end, the film was released at its FULL RUNTIME in the United States (I met Atom at a screening this year and he reaffirmed that both in the Q&A and when I chatted with him afterward) and it went out unrated.

In fact, it was not released with any cuts anywhere in the world. No alternate release version exists at this point, though I'm sure down the line maybe an R rated video version may show up.

Hell Blurry

Good audio, VERY blurry video. Sometimes I feel like: damn! why those VHS screeners have to get into such unexperienced hands! How they call them selfs rippers? I've made hundreds VHS transfers into digital forms with great quality and small sizes, even if originals weren't so good. Even VCD bitrate 1150kbps allowed to achieve much higher quality than we often see in those VHS screeners! I really don't understand how is it possible to screw up new VHS film. It's not like we are talking about 50 years old movie - it just was taped! If I made VHS to VCD transfers for my clients with this quality - they'd never talk to me again.

I'm not flaming - I just feel bad that good things often fall into sloppy hands. I'm sure if you think about it - you'll agree with me.

6.0/8.5/8.0
