Well, quality is good from the sample... Can't comment yet on the extended parts or subtitles.

9/9/8 (8=original movie)

Here we go again...

Before I spend another six hours downloading this release, can someone please tell us if this version includes forced subs for those of who don't speak French and Latin? I've already got the extended XviD which doesn't have them.

howdy

the extended xvid does have the subs included, and they only appear where they should

filename fte-tdce.subs.dvdrip.xvid.rar

as does this dvdr, and it doesn't lock up when choosing play movie like the normal version did

finally, a version to be content with! thanks CuriousJotos

I stand corrected. Someone in the XviD forum told me they were manual. It appears that turning normal subtitles "off" causes forced subtitles to appear. At least on my machine.

Bitrate may be <3000, but it still looks good. I'm glad that they were honest in their NFO. If you want the DVD9 wait for it. Subs ARE included for the non English parts. Thanks for providing the best possible rip on a single DVD5 disc!

The only problem I had with this rip was it did not go to menu when playing on my Yamaha. Instead it stayed on a black screen, i had to hit play, and then the movie played no problem. And once the movie played I was then able to go into the main menu. Considering the length of this film I say the video was great, no complaints. All the subs are there as well for the non english dialogue. Some of us have no problem giving a bit on video to keep it to one DVDr. And it's not going to get better than this for those that want a one DVDr rip. So that being said...

Bitrate isnt everything when it comes to any sort of compression, especially Mpeg2, alot of people are totally obsessed with High Numbers, especially PC and Net people.

Its obvious you havent got this by your pointless review, and rating, also by the fact you say you not gonna get it, lol
So why post based on an NFO and even more why rate obvious lies

The video is very very good for the bitrate, and if you didnt know better you would say 4-5000 if you didnt know the length of the movie.
CJ's seem to be up there with Replica these days on my trusted list

8/9/?

Edit: Only Problem i have is the Subs are Yellow, but no idea if thats how they were, or a ripping problem, not a biggie, i just personally prefer White

Subtitle colors can be changed with DVDSubEdit. There are white colors to choose from, so no changes to the palette are needed.

Considering the bitrate, this is a pleasant surprise. The video looks quite good. Overall, CJ did a pretty decent job.

9/9/7

BTW: Subtitle color can be changed in DVD Remake by modifying the CLUT. If white is your preference, just change the first three from yellow to white.

I was suprised at how much I enjoyed this flick. Not a thing wrong with the video, and giving it a 1 is laughable.

Not for the first time, this less-cut version seemed to pass more quickly than the theatrical cut. I'm guessing it's because the edits are much smoother as there are few extra scenes of any great consequence.

I played the entire movie in real time in DVDShrink to see if there any glitches like the one in the Rental release but none showed up. I thought there were occasional coding artefacts near the start of the film but given its extreme length that is understandable.

Personally, I think Sony has a brass nerve dumping a cut-down version on consumers then accusing people who download this full verison of being "amoral".
