Xbox 360 ***disk read error***

I keep getting disk read error when playin GOW always after about an hour or more play

it dosnt appen everytime but 2/3 times a week !!!

does any1 else get this ??

no red lights or nothing but this cant be right

my 360 isnt flashed so this is with genuine software

Might just be the disc then.
Can you return it to the shop?
I remember I had a game that stopped working before and I rented the same one and swapped it over.Took it back and it only cost me arounf £3 or something at the time.
Worth a shot if it keeps happening.

its definately not the game

the game is immaculate not a finger print on it! literally

it never happened untill just lately iv had it a few months so i presume its the console

Ok, so i'm slightly confused. This only happens with GOW. right? No other game? Why do you think its the machine and not the game? Do you have a friend that you can borrow their GOW and see if it works?

It seems odd that its a console fault if it only happens on GOW.

You could also try buing a dvd cleaning kit and put that in the 360, see if that helps!

Unless theres a heat problem... I expect GoW pushes the 360 more than any other game and it DOES work for a while (like, until it warms up)

ye its only gears of war

iv been googling and it appears to be something to do with the game engine epic use streses the 360 out so much that it get baffled from time to time and you get this error

so no probly not the console

If you dont have a friend that has gears of war that you could test, I'd do the old rent and swap trick. Cause i've been playing gears of war since november, religiously, and its never once frozen or locked up or given me any kind of error.

Now Dead Rising on the other hand is another story, I've been through 2 of those. Granted i played it in 8 hour incriments.. but still. i have the worse luck with that game.

Just out of curiosity, which disc error are you getting?

Not being a dick on live or anything, i just havent received a request from ya

I havent played in a few weeks, due to my buddies just bought halo 2 and call of duty 3, so i've been on live kicking their asses, i cant convince 2 of em to get gears of war for some reason.. But yeah, if i ever boot up and see you in game, i'll jump in.
