Paragon Partition Manager

I'm using paragon partition manager to save a external hard drive that apparently lost its partition when I upgraded to vista.

Paragon tells me that the drive is unallocated space. How do recover the data? I've already searched for deleted partition but no luck. If i just create a new partition will I be able to see my data or is there some other way to recover it.

The One, The Only

you must use a different utility to recover data. if you haven't touched the partition yet (if it is only the file system that has been lost, i.e. the drive recognized and windows management console will assign the partition a drive letter, but you cannot access it in explorer) you need to use something like test disk to retrieve the data. WARNING: test disk is not for the faint of heart and can further destroy your data

PPM will allow you to manipulate the partition, resize, create, delete, but NOT recover the data.

Search the forums for test disk for more useful tidbits on this topic.

Alternately, you can send me the drive and I'll do it for you, if indeed data is recoverable, for a very nominal fee.
