Terminal Service Client

I use my cell phone to remote to my desktop with terminal service client (pre-installed on my phone). Running XP it worked no problem, then I installed Vista Ultimate and allowed it through the firewall and opened the port. The router settings remained the same. Now I can not connect anymore.

I still can connect to my ftp via my phone though.

I suspect that it is some type of Vista security thing but I can't figure it out.

Anyone have any ideas??

Admin?

Assuming you have the correct port(s) open, are you sure the server service is running on Vista? If so, try accessing it from another PC so at least you get decent diagnostic messages. It might also be worth checking the event log to ensure its not failing to launch the server service for some stupid reason.

Jigglyjunk

if it isn't broke, dont fix it. Seriously, I dont understand why people are installing a broken OS.

Your best bet is to remove Vista and put XP back on.

open cmd from cell phone (if you have a cmd) and type: telnet your.some.i.p 3389

if it uses 3389 tcp port , check if open should stay idle the telnet for 6 seocnds, if yes discard the firewall problem...
