SVCD vs XviD - Favorite?

Which do you guys like better, I will say xvid now thats its more popular and the quality is apparently better, but if you dont have a dvd-player that supports xvid, its kind of a hassle

as said above 50-70 $ for a good divx compatible player
philips dvp5140 plays it all [so far] avi are smaller and easier time wise to get and fit 6 avi files to 1 dvd

Asda are knocking out some xvid compatible dvd players for £20.00 at the moment ,with usb and hdmi ports.

Cant really go wrong for 20 notes.
