IP Switching in Windows XP

Ok, so at my work we have a group of people who go from building to building. The problem is each building is on its own vlan. So we have to have an option for them to change ip's without giving them full admin rights. We have a program for the switching of ip's. But it only works if it is run as administrator. Is there a way to allow the program to run as Administrator all the time without making the users admin? Thanks!

I don't know about the XP permissions but is there a reason you aren't using DHCP? It'd save you a lot of hassle.

System Admin says it's more secure to use static (I've tried to get him to switch to DHCP, but he refuses). My life would be a lot easier if we did!

More secure to use static?? Thats a load of BS. But if you are stuck in that situation look into Run As ( You can right click on the .exe and it can run the program as the user/admin you want it to run as) If that doesn't work what you could do is goto the folder where the program that changes the IP and give the user full rights to that folder. Usually i will allow for them to run it if they have full permissions to it....

A well-written script can be used to run the software as the Administrator without giving the user full-blown Administrator rights. This will only work if the Administrator password doesn't change.

Admin?

I'd love to hear that mong explain why DHCP is less secure than static... I think what he meant to say was "I don't have a fucking clue when it comes to DHCP so I'll just talk out of my palsied rectum."
