What's the best video joiner software?

I was looking for some advice regarding the best Video joiner.

I've tried some of the so called free ones that limitations, and I've also tried the open source stuff, but this tends not to support the latest compression, X.264 fro example.

I tried the Xilisoft software but the joined file became outof synch vocally. So can anyone recommend THE perfect video joiner which can join any video regardless of compression used?.

I've always used HJ-Split myself, never any problems.

I think the OP means an audio/video joiner a la Virtualdub.

is correct "allok avi, mpeg fast video joiner"

I use it quite a lot. only thing is both halves need be the same ratio. and a lot of the time they are not.
you can put them in WinAvi if they are different and encode them over and it will join them automatically, this also works with HD files although I have never ran across a two part HD file,

but the program works well with HD to XviD .and joins as it encodes.

autogk has this feature also {uses Virtualdub automatically} it's built in the program.

it will join parts of a file or files . but you have to name them vob-1 vob-2 and so on. {fools the program into beliving it parts of a DVD.]
it will then join AVI files this way if you rename them.
then you can name it back to the original files name after the joining is done.

Slightly baffled here?

If I have two CD's I just burn them to the same DVD data disc and the player takes care of the join. It even sorts out the respective subtitle files for me. No gaps, no delays.
