I recently tryed to install the OSX86 version of Leopard on my Athlon 64. To do so i resized my single partition so i could create another, smaller one exclusivly for Leopard. All went well, however upon running windows own diskpart, with the following commands:

>> List disk
>> Select disk [disk #]
>> List partition
>> create partition primary id=af
>> active

Partition was created, all was working, however Leopard wouldn't install because stupidly i forgot to check how it would function with my RAID setup.

After it failed i deleted the new partition hoping it would allow the former to boot. But it doesn't, so help please.

you can try booting into the recovery console and sing fixmbr.

honestly I dont know if this would fix it as you have more complex arrangements than a normal IDE chain. I have never tried resizing partitions in a raid for this exact reason. It almost ever ends well.

Reading back my post, i noticed i didn't explain anything too well. More details;

The partition resize wasn't the problem, everything worked fine afterwards, it was creating a new partition and making it primary that i thought the problem was. However i deleted the extra partition (with my xp disk) thinking that clear the problem up, but it didn't.

The erorr i get is:

"Disk Boot Failure, Insert System Disk and Press Enter"

although my first partition is fine and untouched, for some reason my BIOS won't boot from it.

Cheers for the above help, although because i didn't state all the details, i think i gave out the wrong idea. I hope more detail means it's easier to diagnose.

Put in your XP disk (and have your raid driver floppy handy) boot from the disk, put in the raid drivers, hit F6 when it tells you to install the raid drivers, press R for recovery console, once logged in, type:

fixboot
bixmbr
exit

hopefully this gets you back up and running in an orderly fashion

Was going to try and fix using above advice, however upon inserting disk i accidentally went to the prompt to format left over disk space, pressed esc a couple times, exited the xp disk, restarted, and everything just kind of worked. So i assume it's just tempermental as fuck.
