I am getting a 1080p LCD tv shortly, and I think I will be purchasing an OPPO up-converter as well as ive read good things about what they can do with regular DVDs.

Im wondering if the upconverter will be able to do the same thing with DVD rips if the quality is nearly indistinguishable from the original DVD. Has anyone has any experience with an upconverter and DVD rips?
