Canadian DMCA

My take on some very disconcerting developments. Canadians take note. Details abound everywhere.

Subject: The Canadian DMCA
Importance: High

Disgraceful proposed legislation by Prentice and American lobbyists he so willingly consorts with. As for Canadians? No need to consult as all the necessary information has been provided. This proposed legislation could make 1 in 5 Canadians criminals. This proposed legislation could result in millions of dollars in penalties. This proposed legislation should bring down a government that has proven beyond any doubt it does not care about its own citizens.

Guys I did write to my MP with a cc to the Minister responsible. Gibberish they will not take seriously. Regardless the story is the the way the feckin yanks control this country is enough to make you puke. Good news is that we have a minority gov’t that can be brought down any time. Then Harper can go play golf with his master that retarded twat called Bush.

On a serious note though and getting back to the topic at hand, just out of interest, what is a Canada?

Let's just say the handful of Canadians who frequent these forums are not representative of those visiting this site for the purpose it was set up for. I would be more then mildly surprised if a significant number weren't following these developments with a very keen interest. And for good reason.

Alright already alright already. I get the hint. I do have this penchant of dwelling on the serious rather then frivolous. So to amend my ways the next thread is going to be entitled “And Just What Color Is Your Poo?” SPOILERS!!! Mine is greenish brown with just a hint of yellowish lavender. Hope it goes down as well as one of my all time favorite threads called “The Apprentice”.

Its ok, you don't need to apologise. Post what you like, i'm just glad you have learnt your lesson and amended the gay way you used to speak. I can tolerate your posts now that you know your place.

Don't be so defensive. I'm just saying that its good that your learnt your lesson and changed your tone. Just make sure you keep it that way.

Back to topic, while I can't preach to anyone about breaching copyrights, I do know that it is illegal. Canada is a part of the world, I don't know which part but apparently its somewhere on the planet, it should have enforceable copyright laws, all countries should. It won't stop anyone doing what they are doing, they will just have to hide it better and put more effort into it. Having to hide committing a crime and putting effort into piracy, talk about old fashioned.

If the reality of the proposed legislation was made in Canada I would challenge. If it is American with no Canadian input I would say our government has sold out to the Yanks and should be brought down. More then 50,000 informed Canadians feel the same way and have voiced their concerns accordingly. You Brits should be fairly familiar with this sell out phenomena. Look no further than Tony the poodle.

Considering Canada's artistic output consists of Celine Dion and Bryan Adams, it isn't hard to understand why they needed America to request action. Who else is going to look out for the interests of American artists if not America itself? It is entirely reasonable that the USA request that Canada abide by copyright laws and it would be entirely unreasonable for Canada to refuse.

Admin?

^Stop baiting you fuckknuckle laws that protect copyrights are already in place the world over but enforced badly. Instead of lobbying to fix this, the entertainment industry has seized the opportunity to push for more favourable legislation to help them create new revenue streams... This is not ok!

Oh and Koodo, sometimes when you write, you sound like Yoda :P
