Not made to be watched on TV. It's all about the 3D. Still a shit movie, no doubt - haven't seen it - but watching it without the 3D is probably missing the point: from what I've seen all the shots and camera angles are about things flying at and around you.

Of course, if you've just come back from watching it at the cinema in 3D...you nonce!

I got 3d glasses but film is so shite i didnt even bother to dig em out, you can tell the 3d bits anyway it's purple and when they on the seas and the fish with massive teeth come you see what it means, i thought there was 2 versions normal and 3d versions

If i had seen this at the cinema i would have demanded a refund it's more like a made for tv film
Rated a 4 and 3 of them are for the 3d effort

There are two versions and even the 2D version is better than Indiana Jones.

I thought it was this 'new' 3D that meant you could watch normally with/without the glasses? Didn't realise that there were seperate versions.

Agreed on the Indy thing. I went to the cinema to watch it. In fact took the girl and had to tell a white lie...that they were sold out for the next 2 screenings...cos I knew the biggest screen showing (in a multiplex) wasn't for 2hrs so bought tickets to that showing and took her walkabout til it started. Could've watched it on a PSP it was that poor!

That remains a marketing man's dream I'm afraid. The so-called "3D" home video releases of this movie require red-blue glasses and even then the 3D effect is very hit & miss. If anyone is thinking of downloading the 3D version I strongly advise them to download the sample clip first and try that or they could be very disappointed with the result.

Downloaded the 720p 3d version and have a few pairs of red and blue glasses at the ready, it's crap on my 12.1" lappy but i'll be checkin it out on telly later.

Doesn't work with red-blue glasses! Watched on a 32" w/s TV at normal viewing distance. Complete waste of time. I suggest trying green-magenta lenses instead.

That is why I thought it appeared normal if watched without the glasses and you got the 3D effect with the glasses

The version I saw was complete fucking dogshit, proper shite, bordering on the Uwe Bol.

The only thing 3d does is give you an extra dimension of crap.

Avoid.

Na, 3D looks completely different without glasses, you couldn't watch it.

Fair enough. Sure I read a long while back that they were abandoning the red/blue in favour of something else that wouldn't require glasses (to see a normal pic) though the wearing of glasses would make it 3D...and seeing as this was the big hype 3D movie thought that this was going to be it.

So this 3D shit hasn't come on any since the 60's. I remember in the mid-80's there was a wave of 3D movies on TV...and it looked pretty much like the picture above (except with red + blue)!

It was nothing like that at the cinema. Yeah I watched it!

You got these dark glasses, ive still got them somewhere, and without them the picture was blurry, but no difference in colour.

Bad film, but the 3d effects were fantastic.

Remember Nightmare on Elm St Pt 6 when last 15 mins was in 3-D and that was on vhs and came with the freddy glasses

Here's a couple other 3-D films from the 80's

Friday The 13th Pt3
Jaws 3-D

I really don't see the point in releasing the 3d version unless it's totally free and i doubt it will be free due to the cost of making the film 3-D and they gotta have lost money on this film, as i still say 1 of the worst 3 films i seen this year

There's no easy way of replicating the newer 3D systems used by cinema projectors on a home viewing screen.

If you owned a Digital Light Projector you could theoretically replace the three color wheel with a six colored one but there is no commercial system at present which utilises that.
