Fortunately I took Blackburn off my accumulator and just went for the top 4 plus Rangers for around 13/1
I also had a few cheeky scorecasts on the Liverpool game, 2 quid on Torres first goal and 3-1 result at 22/1.
As usual I took most of my winnings out and left a tenner in the account, which I have just put on Gordon Strachan becoming Sunderlands next Manager. Odds are now 6/1. Sunderlands more Irish than the Irish National team, it stands to reason they will hire either an Irish national or an Irish sympathiser, Strachan more than fits the bill on that count with his Celtic connections and fiery red hair and I can't think of any other Irish contender, they've already been through Mick McCarthy, Niall Quinn and Roy Keane in the last 5 years. No matter how much Niall Quinn would like to, I can't see him bringing David O'leary out of retirement, although if William Hill were offering odds on him I would have a small bet on him too. Theres zero chance that Martin O'Neill would go to them so thats just leaving Scottish/Celtic Strachan.
So, Gordon Strachan for the next Sunderland Manager, what do you think?
edit:: David O'leary has just been added to William Hills at 33/1 Got to be worth a fiver.
Steve Bruce is still the big favourite at 1/2 with Slaven Bilic second favourite, any betting against those 2 is a risk but fuck it, I'm a gambler and i'm betting Niall Quinn won't be able to resist whoring up his Irish connections.
