That Classics

I'm into classic movies, I'm sure we all have seen some great oldies but goodies.

I just got done watching

The Big Sleep: Staring Humphrey Bogart, and Lauren Bacall. 4 out of 4 stars. Fantastic movie.

Last Sunday I watched

Roman Holiday: Staring Gregory Peck, and Audrey Hepburn. Again 4 out of 4 stars. Audrey Hepburn had enough charm in that movie to carry it all the way. Great movie.

A couple weeks ago I watched one of my all time favorite movies with the girl.

Casablanca: Humphrey Bogart, and Ingrid Bergman. 5 out of 4 stars, One of the greatest classics of all time.

I've also watched some other classics somewhat recently which include. Guess Who's Coming to Dinner which was great, and The African Queen which was another Bogart movie.

What about you guys, any of you guys watch the classics?

Yase.

Love Chaplin movies, old Hitchcock, and try to watch AMC and TCM when it dawns on me.

I don't think I've seen any Chaplin movies. I do enjoy a lot of the old Hitchcock movies though like Pysco, The Birds. I couldn't get into Vertigo for some reason.

I have Dial "M" for Murder on my Netflix Instant Queue, and a couple others I believe.

Definitely a nod to Chaplin, nosferatu is kinda cool in that old school way (have to be in the mood for it), Hitchcock is great, rear window is leet. lots of decent old flicks if you avoid the musicals ;p

I have over 300 pre-1960's movies. In those days making and marketing a movie was so (relatively) expensive that there had to be *something* about the movie that made it worth releasing...unlike today

Pretty much anything with Grant/Stewart/Bogart/Cagney/Ed O'Brien/MacMurray/Peck is going to be a well spent 90-odd minutes.

Same can be said for certain directors: Hawks/Vidor/DeMille/Capra/Hitchcock.

Just too many movies/stars to list as the quality of an 'average' movie back in the day was twice as good as an 'average' movie now.

Hitchcock's Strangers on a Train...

And Chaplin's The Kid is very nice, especially if you have sentiment for kids.
