cheap hdmi cables?
i remember the discussion here a bit but i cant find the thread...from memory i think it was concluded that hdmi(digital) doesnt need to be shielded while analog does...therefore cheap hdmi cables are ok...
now amazon has a store selling one for 54 cents + $3 shipping...it is rated HQ 1080P 1.3b...seems fishy to me but there are plenty of reviews sayin its cool....and a debate about it also...people seem to feel that no matter how cheap the cable there can be no signal loss in short distances
William,
["chest puffing" deleted] you sir have NO idea what you're talking about. Voltage fluctuation?? In the digital world of data transfer there is a process called "handshaking" look it up. Absolutely NO packet (a set of ones and zeros) of digital information can go from the source (Blu-Ray player or whatever) to the TV and lose (or gain) bits of information. This error correction process means you'll get EXACTLY the same signal whether you use a $5 cable or a $200 cable. As long as you're not getting complete picture drop-outs or a scrambled picture (which would only be the case with a 50 foot or longer cheap cable) rest assured you ARE getting the whole picture.

are we in agreement?
