Duke Nukem Forever and another story that is not quite as good

Does anybody else think this game will never appear, ever.

If it ever did appear the hype and reviews would be so critical it would disappear in to oblivion (pretty much like it has now).

Oh and talking of gaming vapourware, I think I read somewhere once that Escape From Colditz on the C64 was finished by a team of gamers who got the code and finished the game off?

I remember playing a beta of it I got from wherever, I forget. It was pretty buggy at that point as I recall.

Also I think I read somewhere once that Parasol Stars was also finished by fans on the C64. Though quite how much truth is in that 'myth' I don't know considering the bloke who made it had his house burgled and all the code was nicked.

Man, I remember hearing about this game ages ago, and have been waiting for its' release ever since. I can remember seeing a video of early gameplay, and I thought it looked pretty cool. And years went by, and nothing. But then the game was later shown with updated graphics, or whathaveyou. It was looking promising, it's a shame we will most likely never see Duke again.

I would love to finally see this game get made, one because if a company actually goes through with it, it will promote itself, and secondly, they can do fun things from the DN universe with these new graphics

I used to rule at Duke Nukem and was absolutely unbeatable at the time. I worked for a high street computer shop in my early teens and we had about 4 PCs on the LAN out front all running DN. We opened up challenges to the public to see if anybody could beat me to 10 kills - every challenge ended up either 10-1 or 10-0 to me. \o/

I even opted to only use the pistol and they could use any weapon they wanted (of course, that just meant that I kept my distance in the open spaces and killed them from afar as the pistol had almost pinpoint accuracy even at long distances).

Holoduke, trip wires, pipe bombs... ah, the memories!

3DRealms claims they're still in development on this game but good lord, I remember reading about it back in 1999 or so. I too have been waiting for this game as the original was one of my favorites, but whether will ever see it I'm starting to doubt it. Hopefully 3DRealms will prove me wrong.

Why is it called Duke Nukem Forever? Cause it going to take Forver to come out! BAWAWAAAHAHAHAHA... okay I know you've all heard that one before.

Haha the old trailers are several minutes long and show what looks like a fairly complete game with lots of ingame footage. New trailer is 30 secs long, and just shows a fairly badly rendered cutscene. Seriously, if it wasn't verified as real I'd have instantly presumed it was a fan video and laughed it away.
