Whoops i just saw an earlier post about this dvd, sorry. but i can tell i does play xvid just fine, but there is some problems with divx ive heard, so you proberbly have to wait to get it sorted out, and maybe wait for the next player.
well there is some other new stuff coming from kiss, looks like they are in the front when it comes to new dvd possibilities. now with streaming video and ogg support

FROM http://www.kissnordic.dk/

At the upcoming CES in Las Vegas, KiSS Technology will demonstrate the world’s first DVD Player with Ethernet connection and DivX™ support. The new KiSS DP-500 makes it possible to stream digital TV through a standard 1mb xDSL internet connection in DVD-quality.

KiSS Technology, a leading Scandinavian manufacturer of DVD products throughout the world, will at CES show DP500, the first DVD player to offer an Ethernet connection and DivX support. The player will be sold at a remarkable price of approximately 350 USD + vat.

KiSS Technology launched the first DVD-player in the world to playback DivX movies in October – the KiSS DP-450. Today KiSS releases new firmware for DP-450 (version 2.5.3) to support OggVorbis – the newest high-quality Open Source alternative to Mp3. With this firmware update the DP-450 will be the worlds first DVD-player to support OggVorbis.

pjeer?

yeah but i was referring to the "first divx dvd player" not that particular posting. its been out for ages, and it seems not that many people actually cared, which was surprising. i thought all the kazaa kids would be spending their pocket money on it. i guess the pricetag put em off

what a surprise it has to rely on firmware upgrades every 10 secs tho....
