Oh great, yet another James Cameron ass-kisser. (Have you seen Pirahna? :P)
IMHO, from the footage ive seen so far, Mostow is doing a superb job carrying on the Terminator saga, and scenes like the crane stunt from the trailer, are just utter Terminator.
$100million? I very much doubt it. The movie will be HUUUUUGE at the Box Office, but as usual, the arrogant(sp?) critics will be on hand to knock Arnie, as for some reason, they dont seem to like him. (The media tend not to like Family men who stay with their wifes and dont do drugs or beat their kids (same thing with Mel Gibson, they always give him a hard time) b\c of this they have no dirt and they come up empty handed).
And Vin Diesel as the lead? You are joking right?
Thats almost as absurd as the rumors that The Rock was gonna make an appearance as one of the T-models. Many say that Arnies acting is slightly wooden, which is true in his early films, but he has much improved in recent years. And if Arnie is wooden, then my friends, Mr.Diesel is Pinocchio.
And Arnie crusty?
Yea, ok then. He looks virtually identical to when he starred in T2. And Im betting you wont look as good as him when your half his age. And Arnies career over? lol, with movies like T3, T4, True Lies 2 and King Conan (hopefully  ) in the pipeline, things are looking great for Schwarzeneggers future.
You choice of actor, (Diesel), has already signalled that your another one of those who like brainless action films, with little or no plot, however a plot is something the Terminator series has in bucketloads.
Ill move onto the trailer. Seeing the first new Terminator footage for 12 years rocked, however it did have some minor low points.
The jump onto the car didnt look all that, added to the fact the shadows of the harness was visible, (something that will definately be cleared up before it hits the screens). But this "cheesiness" factor is required as in recent years, more and more cinema-goers are content with watching a mindless action flick, w/o consideration of a plot. If the trailer had been one and a half minutes of talking about the series' complex plot twists, you can bet 80-90% of the audience would be bored, and would put them off of going to see it on its release. Thus, the cheesiness of the action scenes needed to be implemented to interest those who have little or no knowledge about the Terminator series.
And in reply to cccmmm's point, about the "She'll be back" line, I admit, I didnt like it either, but from the behind-the-scenes footage I've seen so far, the exact same scene occurs in the trailer, but w/o the "She'll be back" line.
And if you dont like the idea of a T3, go watch the Future Coda scene, and ignoe all existence of T3, (And 4 if it goes ahead, fingers crossed ).
And ill finish my post with a quote from another board,
"it makes no sense to diss this movie based on a weak two-minute trailer ".
