mintek 1600 (newer model)

I have a Mintek 1600 the newer model, it plays vcd and svcd, mpg, mp3, jpg, cd-r, cd-rw, but..

I don't know if it plays XViD, dvd-r, dvd+r, dvd+rw, dvd+rw, or divx

Can someone fill me in so I don't go and waste a few cd's and time downloading certain copys of movies that won't play in the dvd player.

Btw, this is a very nice lil cheapo dvd player that does tons more than my more expensive models, that seem to only want to play regular dvds.

You can get it at bestbuy for $62.05 USD tax included.

Thanks.

trying it is the only option to be sure of your question, not every burned CD is the same for standalone DVD player(s).
Some play it and the other just doesn't

So take a gamble and waste a few cd's of $0.12 a piece.

Woot.... what a waste...lol

Just bought myself yesterday another month supply of 400 CD-R's
so i'm covered for the next 4 weeks, then they are ALL filled up again

Good luck with your 'gamble'

What kind of cd-rs can you find for 12 cents a piece I just got 100 cd-r 80min/700mb disc for $40. With out the use of say a rebate or something I can't seem to find descent discs for under 50 cents per disc.

I have used CompUsa, Office Depot, Imation, Smart & Friendy (out of business) and Imix cd-rs.

I seriously doubt you will find DVD disc for that either.

Talking The Mintek 1600

I bought this dvd player when it first came out. IT was only 50 usa dollars! Nice price and the dvd player packs allot with it. It not only plays (s)vcd/vcd, but it also supports XVCD, DVDr, DVDrw, Kodak picture cd's (or other .jpg .bmp and .gif files).
AN EXELLENT BUY. If your getting a dvd player make it this one. A no name brand that kicks some major arse. 100% mintek. Btw There is some ad-on there putting on their newer model that will support divx for only dollars more. Check out the machine and the news on www.bestbuy.com *

* I dunno if its still there, but its worth a shot.
