Thumbs up REVIEW: X2 (X-Men 2)

Right, been looking forward to this one for a while now. This is a stop gap between Reloaded for me

X2 really dives into Wolverine's character, and w e can draw an interesting picture of his background, especially with his old 'friend' Gen. William Stryker. Rogue and Jason are now boyfriend and girlfriend, and they're cute together in my opinion, and they go together well on camera
Halle Berry returns as Storm, her character is still somewhat under-developed in the films. We now learn more about the ove triangle between Jean, Scott (Cyclops), and Logan (Wolverine). If any of you have read particular books concerning X-Men, you'll probably be able to work out what goes on at a certain point in the movie.

Magneto and Mistique return once again, with dastardly plans and the like. Also, there are a few new mutants present, such as John, who's a dab hand with fire, Kurt Wagner (Nightcrawler), and Yurkio Oyama, a woman who possesses the same healing properties as Wolverine, and who has undergone the same process of grafting Adamantine onto her bones. She wields claws which are up to par with Wolverine's
Another strange character is Jason 143, I don't want to give away too much about him, but he's a very powerful mutant.

So, theres my crap review, this movie is totally sizzling shit hot. One of the best this year, 404 agrees with me, and a lot of people in the channel are geared up for it. So all in all, I recommend you see this, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE watch this in the theatre first, this is a movie that you MUST see in the theatre, and if I find out that you've watched the cam before the big screen... I'm going to hurt you.

8/10
Solid performance, slighty wooden acting now and again

King of Wales

Yes.. This film is the coolest of beans. Its officially the best Superhero/Comic Book movie ever!

There was stuff that just had me in awe!

I also agree that people should see this in the cinema! Trust me, it will make all the difference!

Damn it.. There are things i just wanna talk about but i dont want to give anything away!!

Anyway.. 404 gives this 9.5 out of 10 only losing that .5 because at no point does Jean Grey get naked

Unbelievable, lines to see the movie around the block, got there 20min early waited 10min for ticket then waited beside a velvet rope for 5-10min to get in to sit in the 6th row. Movie was amazing, 9.5/10. Way better then the first and if you fan of comic books watch the movie best yet.

Same thing. I went by the Uptown early, and it was around the block and into the residential area in dc. People in line varied from young to old, and when I saw it, I was amaXed. WAY better than Daredevil, and way better than the first. Way better than Spidey too. Now it's up to The Hulk. We'll see...oh, and maybe the future "VCDQ Comics" by eST0r.

Well, given all your amazing reviews, I'm actually caving in and <gasp> going to the theater tonight at 7:00. Definitely going to pick up tix early this afternoon and *still* get there half an hour early to get good seats.

Good movie, a little weak at times. I'd also give it 8/10

Crazy Theatre Seal

God I'm glad I live where no one goes to see movies. I walked right into the first showing of X2 (five minutes late) and i got the best seat in the house. I just hope this luck continues for all the other blockbusters.

MILDLY SPOILERISH KINDA ...

All right, I saw it. Probly 8/10 from me as well. I didn't like how they were unable to find something for all of the heroes to do at the climax, so some of them are just sitting around twiddling their thumbs. But this is typical of multiple-protagonist movies, I guess. Similarly, Stryker just seems to wander around the base randomly at the climax so that he'll be at the right place at the right time as far as the screenplay is concerned. Blah ...

I was also generally disappointed with James Marsden just like in the first one. Too bad ... he's so good in Interstate 60.

yes, yes ... I must say that the effects for Mystique and Nightcrawler were simply amazing. Almost worth my $8.50 right there.

MOG (half-man/half-dog)

Just saw this the other night!

SPOILERS

I was totally blown away by Nightcrawler's assassination attempt on the President. It was a VERY WELL DONE sequence. As was Mystique's infiltration into the military base. That kicked ass!

At the end I thought when Jean Gray pushed the water apart long enough for the X-Jet to lift off... if Bobby/Iceman would've been down on the ground with her, he could've frozen all the water around her. The jet could've picked both of them up and they'd be outta there. Jean didn't have to die.

Ahh Yuriko. Mmm... Kelly Hu is beautiful.

How do you know Jean died......

SPOILER

If you look carefully in the scene over the water you can see a bird, Phoenix. They just showed how Jean Grey became Phoenix.

END SPOILER

sigh ... he was trying to keep this thread spoiler-free for people who don't know too much about the X-Men universe. since previous folks had already spoiled the movie by mentioning the fate of JG, the best we could do was try not to spoil X-Men 3 by discussing what you just did.
