Review: (2003) Daddy Day Care-Eddie Murphy
Eddie, what is wrong with him?? In probably what maybe his worst movie role to date. I have come to the conclusion, that his career as a comic actor is officially over, and if you don't count Donkey from the new Shrek Movie, I'd be thrashing all of his movies.
He means well, but Daddy Day Care seems to fall flat on its face from the start.
Murphy plays an ad guy, Charlie Hinton, a hooked up well to do executive who after undertaking a disastorous campaign falls flat on his face when he gets laid off from his job. He and his also laid off buddy, Phil, played by Jeff Garlin) come up with a half cocked idea of openning a day care company, when Murphy and his wife played by the beautiful Regina King try and enter their son in an exclusive robotic day care center run by Cruella DeVille like Anjelica Huston, who to this day I considered as Hollywood's most underused actress.
After this the movie gets idiotic as the constant diapers are stinky jokes got very very tired very fast.
Directed by Steve Car, who also directed Murphy in the much better Dr. Doolittle 2, Daddy Day Care should get the hook quickly as I would wait for it to hit DVD.
One of My Candidates for worst movie of the year.
Daddy Day Care is rated PG for innuendos and adult situations.
Daddy Day Care opened in theatres on May 9, 2003
My rating: 1.5 out of 10.
Rest in Peace Eddie
