Review: Identity w/ John Cusack

OK..I just got back from the theater and I thought I'd come home and give you all a review. I would advise to not read reviews from newspapers or watch reviews on TV because most critics like to give away plot twists and I think that would ruin your experience seeing this picture. That being said Now I need to tread very carefully on this...here it goes

Identity tells two parallels stories. In the first, 10 strangers are stranded at a motel after a brutal storm floods the highway: Cusack is a former cop turned limo driver. His client is a full-of-herself '80s TV star (Rebecca De Mornay). Liotta is a policeman transporting a dangerous convicted killer (Jake Busey). Amanda Peet is a call girl. McGinley, Leila Kenzle and Bret Loehr play a husband, wife and child. They're an average family caught in crisis. And Clea DuVall and William Lee Scott are newlyweds.

Throughout the course of the "dark and stormy night" - a cliche I could have done without - the motel guests start dying. The dwindling number of survivors shift into panic gear, trying to figure out why they're targeted and what they might have in common.

In the second story - of which we glimpse brief flashes during the first two-thirds of Identity - a psychiatrist (Alfred Molina) tries to win a stay of execution for a convicted mass murderer (Pruitt Taylor Vince). The doctor argues the murderer is insane.

How the two threads of Identity become entangled is the film's winning trick - and obviously won't be revealed here. As actors go, Cusack seldom disappoints. And thanks to an imaginative ending, neither does Identity.

Now on the surface this movie would appear to be a ripoff of Psycho however DO NOT fall into that stereotype and allow yourself to think that way. Do I recommend this movie? Highly..rush out tonight and see this bad boy cause it well worth the $8-10 you'll spend

This movie is rated R for strong violence and language (too bad not for nudity with Amanda Peet)

My Rating: 8 out of 10

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy the movie as much as I did

back like a vertebrae

gr8 review rocs, and yea, this movie really did kick ass, i love psychological thrillers like this one, movies that fuck with your head (donnie darko, the cell, memento, vanilla sky, the others, shrek:P, etc) and i think this movie was extremely well done and i love the twists, the movie and plot was worth 8 (thanks for nothing the rain cliche, but what else would of blocked the road) but for since its story was original and nothing i've seen before... a wopping

Bound and Gagged

Just watched it and I say the movie is great and it has a feeling like this one other movie which was directed by David Fincher skimmed the article, sorry pet, seemed decent, just wanted to bump this because this movie is truely good.

Putting the fun in fundie

Just saw this movie last night on PPV.

Excellent.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. I had no idea what the movie was about when it started so I was taken for quite a ride.

The acting was great, and I was glued to my recliner the whole time.

8/10
