pal/ntsc with apex 1110w

What exactly is the pal/ntsc story with apex 1110w? No mention of compatibility in the users manual. I viewed a pal release on my player that looked decent, but I couldn't tell if some pic was cut out or not. It did look prety good on my ntsc tv, but I don't know if I was missing something. I just know that I picked up this player to handle svcd's, because I wanted to have more options than burning just dvd-r's for my ps2 to play... Love the apex 1110w so far, but don't know if I'm missing something. Dont flame the noob! Any comments?

As far as I can tell, it just converts the pal encoding to ntsc and displays it... same width, different height.

I know the bottom of the picture gets chopped, but you don't really lose very much.

If losing some of the picture bothers you, make sure all PAL releases you grab are widescreen, then all you'll lose it a bit of the bottom black bar.

Personally, I really like mine, it plays everything I throw in it...

It would probably play a cheese sandwich if I was brave enough to stick one in!

God

I tried playing some Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone UK version that I had sitting around with the P/N button, and I couldn't get anything except the black/white scrolling Apex. I had to press 1 continually when it was loading and then push the P/N button to NTSC mode. Then it played, but I couldn't pause or do anything to it. Awe well. I don't watch Pal much anyways. For $46.87 + tax @ Walmart, this player owns.
