First, you could make the comment and voting sections all require an account that you must sign up for. Then a mod could go through the account and ban people that vote all 0s for a certain group, or, for everything.

Second, you could choose some good "commenters" to post reviews of certain releases, sort of like (I hate to say it...) the iSONews' FirstLook (iSONews sucks BTW). There you could expect good quality writing and non-biased reviews of movies. I'm not suggesting that to replace the comments, this will just allow people to get a firm idea of whether or not to get the movie, instead of reading thousands of contradicting posts leaving them unsure of what to think.

So far the ratings seem to be working good. I would only play with them if it looks like anyone is trying to change the results dishonetly
