When watching the print (NOT just the sample, like most people/nukers) i came to the following conclusions. This is just what I thought and NOT guaranteed fact, but I do not think this is Telesync source. If it is, then I think we are talking about very professional equipment, not standard DV cam and headphone socket job.
I think any mislabel is more likely accidentally, if this is in fact not a telecine.
1. The flicker on the print is on apparent on playback on PC, on a TV screen this is barely noticable
2. It is definitely a 4:3 print. theres no crops to the top/bottom or left/right, and during the intro and another part of the movie, there is parts that are in 4:3 letterbox, with correct aspect ratio
3. Any motion blur is from the limitations of the VCDs bitrate, not a camera
4. The credits at the end are very sharp, and perfectly centered
5. Colour tones are very accurate with no bleed
6. Cigarette burns in the top right, proving its from a theater reel (as opposed to a mastered tape) and also that the image is not cropped in anyway
Just an opinion, flame all you like, but most people who flamed already would have done so before having access to the whole print it seems. Don't judge a whole movie (especially its source) off 1min of video on a computer monitor, probably played at full screen.
I'd be interested if anyone was able to prove me wrong, as this was only done from around 5-10mins skipping thru the disc set.
UTi Res Evil = Telecine. if not, pretty sure not a TS. Should've been nuked off sites ? hell no.
