Jurassic Park IV

Yup! Guess some of you knew it already tho...

Its said to be released in summer 2005.

William Monahan have been writing the screenplay based on the characters by Crichton (rumors said Crichton have been touching the screenplay more this time, in jp3 he never touched it). Monahan have been written the upcoming movie by Ridley Scott "Tripoli" (2004).

The cast atm is Sam Neill from JP1 & JP3 and Kiera Knightly (From Pirates Of The Carribean & Bend It Like Beckham). Rumors also telling that Jeff Gouldblums and his character Ian Malcolm will return in JPIV.

The only thing said about the script is that it wont take place on any of the two Islands (Isla Sorna & Isla Nublar). One of the producers (cant remember the name) said something like "This time it will be different, it wont be green this time, no djungle". So, desert? Alot of city scenes? Who knows?

The idea and script of the movie is said to be very well done. Spielberg even said "Its such a good idea, if it succeeds, it might be one of the best JP movies made".

The director isnt decided, but Joe Johnston (who made JP3) is said not to return this time. Rumors saying Spielberg even might direct it because he liked the script so much. But I think he will go and just produce it like he did with JP3...

Anyone know anything more about upcoming JPIV? More cast? Rumors?

Im a big fan of this movies and cant wait for this one Tho my english sucks pretty much *sry for that*

There's just no way to re-create the originallity of the story and special effects of the original

yeah I saw this on FilmForce a while ago...I think the idea sounds awful. I don't care if Michael Chriton and Steven Speilburg (sp? murder those names) do it by themselves. They have killed the series. JP3 was garbage at best. let it die, let it die...

Pray for Mojo

I absolutely LOVED JP1 and 2. It took me about a year to make up my mind and conclude that 1 was better than 2, but damn 2 came as close as you could get to perfection.(apart from 1 which was flawless :} )
3 was great as far as the effects and characters, but the story could have used a lot of work. It seemed really rushed and half assed. I still loved the movie because JP rules :}
the dinosaurs make the movie. 1 was made by the effects/dinosaurs, and most importantly the story, but once the story was set, it was pure gold. 2 didn't need as great a story as 1 cuz 1 set the mood for all the future jp's..but then a totally half assed story in part 3 didn't help. though i still enjoyed it
i'm a supporter of this one and don't ever want the JP series to die!

True :-) Except they changed to much in the Lost World from the book, they should have stayed to the novel more... As they did in the first movie...

JP3 was a great action movie! But nothing more... The story as you said, was god damn simple.... Tho they leave some big plotholes wich they dont fill in.... Like when Dr. Grant says something like: "No, cause the Spinosaurus wasnt on Ingens list, and that make me wonder what they now are up to" ... Things like that never explains :P

I hope JPIV will ROCK

hahaha ... what kind of bizarre claim is that? "out of these 4 movies, it might be one of the best of them!"

I never did get around to seeing #3 because I heard it was awful, but I did enjoy 1 and 2. I got hooked on Crichton back in 1991 when the summer camp I was at got us all pre-release copies of the book. I guess that was my first pre. *sniffle*

Say what you will about the movie adaptations, but I really like Crichton's books ...

How about dino's in SPACE? Yeah that'll really liven up this dead horse for a few more whacks. </the fucker who thought of doing a jp4>

jp3 SUCKED. I'd only get excited about 4 if either Spielberg directed or if they went psycho violent with an R rating.

I think it would be cool if the dinosaurs we transported to the future where they had to get office jobs and wear ties. People treated them like normal humans but they are still just huge dinosaurs with no idea what's going on! Imagine if you will an office with lots of cubicles in it. In one is a huge triceratops looking pissed because he's in the future and doesn't know why. he's butting the shit out of his cubicle. His supervisor comes over with an arm full of documents and says "Hi, I'm gonna need you to have these ready for Mr. Weisner by... AAAAAARRRRGHHH!!!!" The tricertops just stomps on his fucking head.

I agree, most of his books, other than Timeline, are pretty good. But anyone who reads one a regular basis knows that the books are always going to be better than a movie adaptation.

Indeed. I was deeply disappointed with both JP 1 and 2 due to the fact the books were soooooooo much better. JP2 is dire in my opinion and i only hold JP1 in high esteem due to what it accomplished visually on screen.

Personally i preferred 3 due to the fact there was no book associated with it. I just sat back and enjoyed! The same cant be said with JP1 and JP2 which are poor in comparison.

you have apperently read the books.... In TLW they are saying something about a DX desiece? That all dinosaurs are sick (which is made clear in JP1 with the sick triceratops & the brachiosaurus) and are going to die.... You know anything about that? You think they will make a script based upon such a thing?

Supreme Movie Overlord

I had to chime in my two cents on this subject. All the rewrites of the script have been done over and over and over again. What I do know is this.

Joe Johnston ( I thiink his name was), director of JP3, will once again helm JP4, but from inside reports Spielberg has been pushing his weight around, because filming has not started yet.

That is gr8 they have some of the original cast in this one. Makes it to be more believable.

I agree! I was just about to say the exact same thing. I started reading it thinking, "What is this guy on???" and then I just lost all control over my bodily functions and fell out of my chair.
