ill tell you why this little SOB of a movie is banned.
First of all its about the Hacker Kevin Mitnick.
If you know computers you know who that is.

The movie is based on John Markoff's Book Takedown.
The movie is riddled with poor information about Mr.Mitnick
the movie is WRONG. Its another gay Hacker movie with lame graphic scenes which is suppose to be "hacking"

Watch a little movie before this one to really understand it!

2600's Amazing movie titled "Freedom Downtime" {approx. 140 mins' - 2000}

This movie is the best thing since sliced bread!! There is a free copy floating around websites *cough www.rootsecure.net

I Highly recommend this movie!

anyways, about Takedown. I don't have this dvdr, but i do have the OLD workprint laying around on cd somewhere, as well as a very nice DVDivX released sometime around november 2000 (mine was burnt november 11, and my friend who downloaded it way back then said it was new)

yes, this is a pretty good movie. the 'hacking' scenes weren't as far-fetched as those present in 'Hackers', but the movie wasn't 100% true.

although this is adapted fom the book of the same name, the movie is supposedely slightly closer to reality than the book is.

haha, come to think of it, i posted a cool Easter Egg about this movie on a board a loong time ago...

despite what Freedom Downtime has to say
I enjoyed the Social Engineering at the beginning which Kevin was a master of I bought his book but im too big of a wuss to actually try any of it

Than again this movie is labeled at the beginning to be partly based on a true story.

The social engineering parts were the only realistic and good parts of this movie. I don't know why anyone would confuse this movie with the turd that was Hackers.
