question about dvd regin codes

watched a few dvds on my new pc just regin 2 regin 0 (universal)
and some stuff recorded on my dvd recorder(regin) yet when i just stuck a dvd in my software windvd 4.o told me i was currently regin1 usa and canada but i have not watched any regin 1 .is it possible a regin 0 could be read as regin 1(but i have changed back and forth a few times) i don't want to lock my drive out on anything other than regin 2.however some dvd rives can be maderegin free with dvd genie if i remember right or something like it. am i right? has anone else had this problem with regin codes?the regin 0 disc is uk retail.(not porn before you ask)

Just get AnyDVD (proggy) and leave it running in the task bar and then you can play any "Region" you like then with any more changes being made to your DVD player"Region" select - Thus it wont lock up on a set "Region"
