At first I wondered why DoNE had chossen such a dark sample, and then I remembered, this entire movie was a dark fuzzy piece of shit in my mind!

Ohh btw, the rip looks nice from what I can make out in the darkness.

Sample is indeed a bit dark. Quality looks pretty good, but then again there's not much movement in the sample ..

This is earlier than expected, I missed this at the Cinema as Ive had a broken leg for a few months, and i was just thinking today when the DVD Screener will be out, and then we get this, so i was well chuffed until i saw that it was only 1CD.

I know its only 100mins, but the stupid outdated rules should be changed, a film like this need AC3, when the TS has AC3 and the DVD-Rip has mp3 then you know your going to dissapointed.

Doesn't look great to me anyway, but im only judging from the sample.

this film didn't deserve to be made, so it sure as heck doesn't deserve ac3 and an extra cd... this release is great quality (given its length, and the fact theres a fair bit going on in terms of action/motion) - the movie didn't deserve a release this good.

directors cut would definately save this movie... especially if its by another director, ha ha... actually anderson didn't do a bad job at directing this movie, the problem is his constant insistance to do the scriptwriting, and come up with story and characters, all of which he is always bad at, and only seems to be getting worse....

the aliens were done rather well in this, preds not too bad, characters were horribly done, as was story, and unfortunately didn't keep the atmosphere of the alien films, but i guess kinda did from the pred films... pity. anderson also majorly screwed with the rules/guidelines/lore that the previous films had specifically tried to established...

hope that the directors cut adds a bit more to the story, and fleshes out the characters a bit more, rather than just being an excuse to add more blood... (which ill admit aint bad, especially if theres more pred on alien fighting, and a few more people getting ripped up, but the alien films never needed to show too much gore to kick ass...)

concidering its a 1cd rip:
7.5/6/5.5 (could have been a fair bit worse i guess, but on the other hand, SHOULD have been far far better... wasted opportunity i guess, heres hoping anderson wont be back for avp2 if it happens...which it will im sure...)

edit: by the way, just saw tlf's internal of avp, and for a group who loves to be excessive (i believe that was a copy of extended rotk with dts sound, that i saw... erk...), their internal is ALSO 1 cd, so anyone hoping for 2 i guess will have to look to another group, or do it themselves... or wait and hope the dc (pff apparently only thing new is an alternative opening sequence...) will be on 2cds...

i guess its blurry because its a pretty dark film, there is a lot of fast action sequences, and its at the upper end of film length for a single cd (around 100 mins), so thats probably why

as for directors cut version, as far as i see, theres no real directors cut, just an alternate opening... but i haven't really been keeping up with andersons trash...sorry, work, so i dont know if there will be a TRUE directors cut, which was also promised for his other flick, resident evil, but never delivered...

video is good. audio also good but could have been better. movie was better than i expected, rather enjoyable at times. on the other hand it has got really bad reviews so i thought it would be REALLY bad.
