is there an easier way? SVCD--> DVD convert
I'm not new to the scene, but I am new to DVD burning. I just got a DVDR about a week ago, so I'm still learning how to use it.
So far I've made about 5 very nice conversions from SVCD and VCD movies to DVD - but it's been a real pain.
I'm using TMPGEnc (MPEG tools) to MERGE and CUT the MPEG's from multiple disks. This takes at least 20-30 minutes. Then I'm using TMPGEnc to convert the MPEG's to NTSC 720x480 / 29.97fps. This takes about 4 hours, sometimes longer. Then I'm using TMPGEnc DVD Author to create the DVD image - I make my menus, add some pictures, create chapters, yada yada... This takes about another 30 minutes for the files to be created. Once all that is done, I can finally burn my DVD, and that only takes 8-10 minutes.
SO MY QUESTION IS: Is there a better way to doing this? I don't need all the fancy menus, with pictures and chapter selects. I just wanted to take SVCD's with great quality movies on 2-3 disks and burn them all to 1 DVD.
Anyone who could nudge me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.
