Unhappy Maybe you guys can help me ???

Hi , this is my 1st post so hello to you all....

I have downloaded two files

1) SimpsonsGoneWild.DVDRip.XViD.avi-IHQDR
2) Alone In The Dark.XViD.avi

codecs for both files are VIDEO = DiVX codec
AUDIO = Lame MP3 format

I have tried to encode theese files so i can burn them to a DVD but are having problems, both the files play fine on my PC. But after encoding them (tried both DVDSANTA and AVI2DVD) the movie starts freezing or sticking.

In the VOB file for alone in the dark it played fine for an hour then started freezing and skiping.

The same thing happens when i encode the simpsons as soon as i check the VOB prior to burning the first episode plays fine then same thing starts happening.

I have been searching for an answer all day and am really fed up have any of you guys got any ideas as to what causes this?

thanks in advance

Banned; MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS
Kisses, Bush.

both avi's so your obv. converting ... problem is in the conversion... sounds like codec problem.

Or maybe wrong bitrate is used to encode causing the glitches?

Try http://www.tmpgenc.net/ to encode

Also try this http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Editing/avidefreezer.zip

thanks for the help just a couple of things though..

Does avidefreeze only work with AVI files or will it work with VOB files as well.?...the original AVI's play fine on pc.

If I try to load the avi file into virtualdub i get a message about audio being VBR or something like that . Do i just ignore this or could it be the reason for my problem?

thanks again for the reply

Punk B1tch

if the original avi's play just fine, then I would suggest giving DVD2SVCD a try and specifying AVI for input and DVD for output...you can tell it to use either CCE, TMPGEnc, QuEnc, or Procoder. Either way, your ouput will probably be fine then
