Don't get me wrong, and im not an elitist, you can get a desent rip from guides such as doom9s (which is actually quite good). But they key word there being desent. As somebody who has been ripping for almost 2 years, to either divx(actually i don't use the divx codec for reasons theres no point going into) or svcd. There is a quite noticable difference in a rip done following somebody else guide, and one done using your own knowledge(or the codec itself as well as the software etc) and experience based skill. I look back on some of my first rips and wonder what i was thinking, things i had never noticed before are now noticable due to having much more first hand experience. And hey, my avi rips still aint up to par (mainly due to the outdated methods i use) but non-the-less they are increasingly better than the first ones i did.
Perhapse, infact most probably, im rambling again lol. Tho mymusic's statement "Like it takes any talent to start up DVD2SVCD and rip a movie." is true (anybody can do a rip) if you are looking for the best quality you can get it DOES require skill and knowledge beyond reading a guide.
:: Om3n i love ya man but the word is descent -cx
