Mr.and.Mrs.Smith.TC.SVCD-TUN.tar - corrupt file

Hi,

I have downloaded the following file - Mr.and.Mrs.Smith.TC.SVCD-TUN.tar, however when I tried to extract it, it is saying the archive is corrupt. I have tried using a program called Advanced TAR to repair it but with no success. Can anyone suggest a way of repairing this file ?? Thanks

Usually if it corrupted there is not much of a chance in fixing it (don't resume downloads from different bots). Just have to redownload.

If gets to 99% before corruption error then you could probably salvage what's in there by untaring with winrar and ticking the option "keep broken files" Make sure to tick that when your unrar the new files as well.

Thanks for your help. I downloaded another copy and this one works fine. In future I will take note of what Valentine said by not resuming from different Bots. Cheers :-)

I dont belive its worth the time to re-pair a tar file. Unless ur sure u have ALL of the file, that means 700MB of 700MB. The most likely cause of a corrupt file is.

1. U did not download the whole file.
2. The file was corrupt from the start.
3. Not all the pakets got recived.
4. U disconnected from the server and resumed ur download.

U can unzip the file, and replace the corrupt files usually the last files to get extracted. U can go to a #incomplete chan in a IRC server to get the missing file.

Admin?

Pretty much what he said ^

Extract the Tar with the "keep broken files" option. Then use an SFV checker to identify which rars are corrupt and just grab those rars again from "elsewhere"
