Also, I doubt it's a virus causing it, sounds more like the lens is fucked to me... Can you hijack a friends PC and try it in that? I also understand that Pioneer drives can be a bit fussy with their media, have you tried other brands of DVD? Does it recognise a "pressed" DVD or one burnt in a different burner?

i have both a ao9 pioneer, and asony 710 a i can confirm the pioneer is a bit picky ,as the 710 will burn anything,the only reason i keep the pioneer is that it will burn at a slower speed than the sony,the sonys slowest speed is 4 times,the pioneer will burn at 2 times
