well lately i have some problems with new rips.. or some other codec on my stand alone..

and i wonderd is there a good/easy prog out there that can convert any xvid/divx to an other dixv format..

result need to be watchable.. not 100% the best ever..

i just need it for the movies that look like crap on my standalone.

so if u got a solution .. do let me know

I have problems with XviD as well.
WinAvi is the quickest solution I have found.

You guys might want to check out THIS THREAD if it is the old packed bitstream on standalone problem, I am not surprised you missed it though, it's not as if it is stickied or anything
