Flicker is bad, but not as bad as Insom's Serenity.

Its watchable. Very dark on the indoor scenes, but good colors, and good AR. Sound is strong with a typical cam echo, but clear. Movie looks good, but havent watched it yet. A watchable release from LRC, but heres to hoping a better one comes along.

From the NFO:
Notes: This has a flicker, its filmed by NTSC what can you do.

contactlrc@

Use a PAL mini DVD-R camcorder, pretty sure that will solve your problem... most NTSC camcorders are just not gonna do the trick, NTSC camcorder is 29.97 frames per second, a movie playing in a theater is 23.97 frames per second, PAL camcorder is 25 frames per second. the difference in the frames per second between the theater film playing and an NTSC camcorder is what's creating the black spots or "flicker". The PAL at 25 fps is close enough it would not really be noticable.
Also, I say to use Mini DVD-R because that would be pretty easy to rip to VCD/SVCD.

You asked.

Is PAL not 25fps?? I'm pretty sure it is. Can a Mini DVD-R hold over 90 mins?? Most films nowadays are at least 90 mins and quite a few are over the 2hr mark. The discs i have seen are 60 mins but maybe the quality can be adjusted.

The Panasonic VDR-M20 is one I looked up doing a quick google search, it's a 2002 model so i'm sure they've come a long way since then.
http://www.camcorderinfo.com/conten...20_07_26_02.htm
"The camcorder records MPEG2 video to the DVD disc. The camcorder can record 30, 60, 90 or 120 minutes of video to one cassette, depending on quality setting. You can delete, divide or connect different scene within the recording. You can also apply effects to video which you have already shot, allowing the camcorder to act like a mini video editor. "

PAL is 25fps, but what the poster above you was getting at is that all FILM is shot in 24fps. So capturing with a PAL cam (25fps) is better than capturing with an NTSC cam (29.97fps). Also, if you are capturing with intent to make a VCD or SVCD, you could decrease the capture quality (bitrate) and also capture resolution (352 instead of 720) to get more minutes on mini dvdr.
