Exact same source as the BABiES release, check out that ciggy burn on the BABiEs release, that is in the sample that comes with this. Was this just released to get the supposedly DVDSCR by BABiES nuked, who knows its a competitive world for 1337ness in the inner circles of the scene.

NFE Claims:

heres a vobsample with 3 audio trakcs and 1 subtitles track
it has dts, eng dd 5.1 and a russian track and russian subs
we didnt try to pass a tc as a dvd rip
we didnt check the whole thing frames by frames before releasing this
so heres the vobsample and the dvd cover included
i guess R5 dvds are not scene material.

hostel-vob-nfe.rar = 40 seconds of the movie in russian language (i didnt see the diff audio tracks, or anything that resembles a menu)

hostel.jpg = russian dvd cover of hostel, easy enough to google & get

Clearly some artifacts in the middle of the screen

Cig Burn mark top right of the screen (kind of hard to see dark scene)

Also many other artifacts & flaws on NFE's sample. Including pixels missing from the picture leaving white blocks on the screen.

Personally i have leeched alot of NFE's DVD9 movies in the past which they do an excellent job on.

I think in this case it wasnt them trying to fool us more then their supply was bunk.

Sometimes those PDVD's can fool grps trying to rush releases to win the pre race.

With Region 1 UNRATED DVD set to retail in 3 weeks, and more then likly online within 2 weeks i can wait.

NFE, Region 5 DVDR's are scene material, Russian PDVD's arent. Stick to the DVD9's NFE.

Well. That Director's cut just got 24 seconds more eyetorture in it. Not worth the wait. Eli Roth got allmost all of his blood and mayhem into the theater release.

I liked the movie a lot. Got high hopes for "Hostel 2".

If this is supposed to be a Telecine from a PDVD source, then where exactly did they get the 5.1 and DTS from then?

Anyway, source does look less than usual retail, but still quite nice, and this reminds me of the Saw2 DVD/PDVD that was russian sourced, that was also a dirty print, but in alot of ways actually looked better than the Region retail version, though the R1 version was alot cleaner.

TC's are not in any way DVDRips.

With this kind of stuff you basically have two options. Download and watch it, or dont. No one really knows. Such is the "scene" of pre movies.

ways to catch on, i downloaded this version just to check and the release by "FLINT" is not on this site but is a full rip, no problems, no cig burns just a perfect rip, thats the point im making

I have a few Retail DVD's that have dirt on the print and a few cig burns, i even have a VHS Copy of 48 Hours that has tons of them, should i take them back to the store demanding a refund as it should be nuked :P

Anyway, i believe this to be a poorly mastered Retail from Russia, not a Russian PDVD, as its far more likely that the retail is a pretty dirty source, than some small group cracking DTS2 and not telling anyone about it, though TBH id love the second one to be true as i miss the 5.1 we used to get on TS's and TC's, and the DTS on the vob sample sounds great, just a pity its Russian.
