A question about HD

Im trying to make the swap because it's my birthday on wednesday. But its close to christmas so the prices are high.

My friend says that as long as the resolution across the bottom is over 480px I can plug my HD Scart cable in to any LCD TV and it will give me HD quality video.

Is this true?

uh if the DVD player isnt an HD-DVD or blu-ray player then it wont be *real* 1080p but things like that by faking it can improve quality. Make sure your TV HD also
