My Game-boy DS wont connect to my WiFi Router (not compatible)

No problem because i do have a Belkin USB WiFi adaptor that the DS Can connect to.

So here's the problem....

With my Laptop up and running and connected to the Internet via my wifi router and its own built in wifi.

Can i then plug in this USB wifi Dongle and have The Game-Boy DS connect to that
USB dongle and pass threw the laptop using the laptops already connected wifi.


If that makes any sence?

If I understand it correctly, your laptop is wired into your router and you want your Nintendo DS to connect to your PC's USB wireless adapter and then bridge across to your Ethernet interface into the router.

You can configure wireless adapters in client to client mode and you can enable bridging across two interfaces on your PC (i.e. your ethernet and wireless interfaces) however I'm not sure if the setup would work as a whole, especially with a Nintendo DS in the equation.

You might be worth looking deeper into why the DS doesn't connect to your router. Have you read somewhere that it's incompatible or did you come to that conclusion through testing?

yes, there's a list someplace on their site (Nintendo)
My Wifi router is incompatible, BUT my USB wifi stick IS compatible.

my laptop is connected to the net, Via its built in wifi card and my router.

So i plug in the USB wifi stick to the laptop
essentially giving the laptop 2 wifi things.

i can get the DS to see and connect to the USB wifi stick
and the laptop is still connected to the Internet.
but there's no ummmm pass threw connection if you know what i mean?

Using XP you need to do the following....

Right click on "My Network Places" and select "properties". Then highlight both of your wireless connections, right click and choose "bridge connections". That'll create a link between the two wireless connections. From there, it should just work I guess (I've never used it) and any packets received inbound on one wireless connection should be forwarded out of the other wireless connection and vice versa.

As I said, I've never used it before but give it a shot and let me know how you get on.
