I am getting this message about every 10 minutes, I put all my media on this hd. This is my secondary drive. Could this be something other than my hard drive failing? I doubt it. but I don't think so. Any suggestions

WIndows don't tell you this unless it is serious

Check the S.M.A.R.T reporting in the computer BIOS and see if it is reporting any errors. (if SMART is enabled in the BIOS, it usually tells you status at post)

Then get all your shit off that drive and run the manufacturers tools on it to check for electronics and actual disk errors.

If the drive checks out, then get Hirens Boot disk and test the rest of your hardware.

i had the same drive
WD 250 GB, crap out on me after only 3 days..right after i had moved ALL my media over.

the replacement drive i got for it has been operating for 8 weeks now,but I still think that some of these particular drives are crap right out of the box

i'm thinking you best get all your data off that sucker pronto

Well it's conclusive, S.M.A.R.T Status bad.

So the HD is bad, I backed it up, and boxed it up, I bought it 3/6 So it's well under 30 days. So they better take it back or I will shove it up there ass.

I took it back and got a seagate 160gbit. So far no problems. It was also a bit cheaper.
