i am a dick i know but for some reason the writing underneath my shortcuts on my desktop have become filled in with colour. it looks fucking awful. please tell me how to irradicate the colour i have tried for ages with no success.

Go to Control Panel>System>Advanced, and click Settings in the Performance section. Turn on the 'Use drop shadows for icon labels' on the desktop option, and click Ok.

This is a really easy fix.

For XP Right click your desktop. Select Arrange Icons By and then on the new drop down select and uncheck Lock Web Items on Desktop.

still no luck. the shortcut text underneath is white as if it is highlighted ive been able to change the colour but cant get rid of it. please help

Select one of XPs built-in themes and that should sort it - then you'll need to customize it with your own wallpaper etc.

To be honest though, the option for drop shadows should work... Might be worth turning it off and on again to see if Windows has simply fucked up?

this is driving me around the fucking bend i still have had no luck vbitter ring up ya bro and i'll please u in anyway you want.

also the actual shortcut has a white edge around it.

done it thank god now i dont have to have vbitter's cheesey dick in my gob. the prob was for some reason i had a active desktop. disabled it and heh presto thanks for all your help see ya.
