Rescue Dawn

Source: Variety

Christian Bale (Batman Begins) and Steve Zahn (Sahara) are set to star in Werner Herzog's Rescue Dawn, an action-drama based on the German auteur's acclaimed 1977 documentary Little Dieter Needs to Fly. Variety says filming is set to begin next month in Thailand.

The independent film tells the real-life story of U.S. fighter pilot Dieter Dengler, a German-American shot down and captured in Laos during the Vietnam War. Dengler, to be played by Bale, organized a death-defying escape for a small band of POWs, including Duane Martin (Zahn).

Rescue Dawn marks the first time Herzog has directed a feature since 2001's Invincible. In addition to "Rescue," he's also on board to helm an untitled soccer feature. His new documentary, Grizzly Man, will be released on August 12th

I thought Vietnam type film's had been done to death but this made me think different. Excellent movie and anybody who didn't see should check it out. Christian Bale is great in it, one of my favorite actors and never fails to impress.

AWRITE FANNY BAWS ?

I though Steve Zahn was better in it.
Bale just likes to starve himself.I don't think he is that a good actor really. The part when he is shouting at the helicopters was very poor there was no emotion he just sounded like a fuckin dumb fuck.If you never noticed it watch it back and you will see what i mean.
The Machinist was a good movie though I'll give him that.
Batman ? nahhhh

I think Bale made a few great movies. Batman Begins was the best batman movie made so far. Equilibrium was another one of my favorite movies( he had to show no emotion in that one )
Harsh time and The Prestige another couple of movies well worth a look with Bale in them.
