stupid laptop

Ok, maybe one of you can help me here.

I have a laptop, an acer aspire 3690.

I wiped it cause it was completely wankered.

Im now installing all the drivers from here:http://driverscollection.com/?H=Aspire%203690&By=ACER

Im trying to get the LAN port to work..

But the drivers I download dont have an EXE to click and sort things out for me. Instead there are 3 files: B57win32.cat, B57win32.inf, and b57xp32.sys.

What do I do with them?

Whoever gets it right gets some cool free stuff (not really)

Open Device manager and see if the Lan port is listed but with a yellow icon next to it. Right click and install the device, select install driver from a specific location and point it to the folder where you have put the drivers.

Or

Add new hardware, let it search for uninstalled hardware then select the device you want and follow the above instructions.

What he said.

your lan may be 'flagged' as unknown in device manager.
if theres a few, try them one by one.
Just point the 'browse' to the folder containing the .cab and .inf
