Creative Zen and Video

Well Ive fucked around with it a ton and cant get shit to play on my Zen. Used the Creative Converter, VDub and a bunch of other progs. Simply says "There is a problem playing this video" when loaded.

Was wondering if anyone has experience transcoding shit to play on a Zen. Format requirements are a bit sketchy and I dont need movies, just some Futurama episodes so the quality isnt a big concern.

Zen is brand spankin new, 16gb.

i figured it out. THe handful of files I tried had messed up audio (unidentified codecs) and wouldnt convert properly. works for all the other files now. Been usin River Past's Crazi Video. Will give your app a try even though the site looks a bit dodgy

Bitter, miserable twat.

Be careful with SUPER - it will install a bunch of extra codecs (and mess with your AviSynth, if already installed) without telling you.

i stuck with crazi. once i grabbed an ac3filter i was all set.

I still have problems with a few files but they seem to have odd framerates. *shrug* not worth my time to re encode everything simply to re encode it again.

I got a Creative Zen a couple of weeks ago, love it! Just had the Sennheisser MX400 buds delivered...slightly disappointed with those.

Anyways, I wasn't too keen on the bundled Zen converter either and after a bit of trail and error settled on Xilisoft Video Convertor 3.

Set it up with the following settings and it succeeds every time (and about 3 times quicker than Zen's bundled convertor):

Duration: Full
Video Codec: mpeg4
Video Size: 320x240
Bit Rate: 800
Frame Rate: Auto
Aspect: Auto
Same Quality: False

Audio Codec: mp3
Bit Rate: 128
Sample Rate: 48000
Channels: 2 (Stereo)
Disable Audio: False

As usualy ty Baha. Extremely fast and solid encodes. Still playin around with the bitrate to try and squeeze a bit more space out (got the 16gb) but def a better solution.

I grabbed a pair of the Sennheiser CX300-B Earbuds and I am still gettin used to em. Not a big headphone person, first mp3 player and all. Had a cd player when they first came out, hated it.

Are you in the UK mate?

I only got the 8Gb one, but got a deal on 3x 8Gb SDHC cards for the price of 2 from play.com and the wallet holder (which also has slots for 2x external SD cards) was a few quid off when ordered together with the Zen. All in all forked out £140 for all of it which I think is a bargain for 24Gb external, 8Gb Zen, and a wallet to stop it getting scratched and messed up. (Only thing is that the wallet doesn't give you quick access to the joypad, you have to flip open the cover, but I;'m just grateful it stops scratches on the screen.)

play are still doing the 8Gb SDHC cards - importantly I can confirm they're 100% compatible - for £18: http://www.play.com/Electronics/Ele...rd/Product.html - fuck me, even cheaper now! £15, apparently it's made by Toshiba, if you rip the sticker off it's branded underneath...I don't particularly want to rip the sticker off.

And the case for £15: http://www.play.com/Electronics/Ele...se/Product.html
