Remains on. This has been happening quite often and I can't figure out/explain why. I'll have my computer on at length (14+ hour) and after a while the monitor just shuts off. Sometimes the computer can be on a short while, but it just depends. I have the appropriate drivers for my monitor if it matters. Any thoughts?

Are you talking about the display power management feature that turns off a monitor if you don't move the mouse or key?

No I don't reckon so. Because this problem used to happen when I played my ITG and ITG2 videogames. But now it just happens.

are they onboard graphics or actual graphics cards. if its the later then, remove the card and test it with onboard for a few hours to see if it does the same.

If it doesnt try lowering the resolution of GFX card and see how that goes first.

What feckin graphics card do you have? If you don't know, run Belarc Advisor and post the "sanitised" (cos it'll have personal details in) results here.

I had problem like this using the ati 2400+ pro i had the app from the graphics card installed but then i just added the driver and works fine does go of after while of inactivity but then just move mouse comes back on hope this helps if useing and app from your graphics card just install the driver hope this helps m8. I had the same problem. It wasn't just the monitor which died but the whole PC even though it was still "running". No warning messages, nothing speciific in the event log. It hasn't happened again since I last ran a registry fix but that may be pure coincidence.

could be a number of things. PSU is failing or bein overtaxed (least liekly), drivers need to be reinstalled (most likely) or your card is takin a shit (6xxx is a bit old).

Keep an eye on it.
